i voted for NSDAP as did lots of others! im quite happy... i think it wil do us good. and i am so so relieved the KPD arent doing too well. that would be auful! so the NSDAP and the DNVP are joining to form a "patriotic, nationalist German coalition" it sounds like its going to be strong and it is definately what we need after last month..

March 1st,
let me just state.. i am definately not anti-german! i love where i live and being german. but i think every one has gone insane. yes, the reichstag fire is herendous and there is an obvious link with van der Lubbe and communism. but they've gone a bit far to susspend basicly all areas of personal freedom imaginable. the article i read made it seem like it was for the good of the country. but it just means Hindenburg has signed over the countries human rights to a man who has been Chancellor for literally 1 month. i should really watch what im writing now that everyone in germany is the enemy. aparently there have been more plans to attack Germany, theres even talk of a civil war. adn when you put it like that i guess i would rather have every conversation listned too if it will help. hopefully it wont aply to us seing as we are so far from Berlin. i like Hitlers response to all of this. he seems like hes with us not like politicians before, not caring. at least he seems interested! but hes talking of hanging every communist. they are scum but u cant kill off the lot of them.

February 27th,
i caught the end of the story on the radio, i have just finished reading the article in the paper. i cant actuali believe it. Hitler warned us about this,, communists want to disrupt our govenrment. "Dem Deutschen Volke" strong words that have been burnt to the ground by the reds. Pipins a bit unsure, to me it seems clear that it was the communist, but pipin has been trying to tell me all afternoon how its a bit weird Hitler had mentioned fire in his speech. i dont know whats wrong with her, Van der Lubbe was found there.. he has even been noted he said the communists are going to revolt. Hitler said that it was a communist uprising, im so glad he has stepped in when he did. could you imagine this situation under the weimar. they have rounded them up pretty quick, its reasuring the police and uthorities are so quick to respond and arent letting them get away with it. the Dutch man seems insane, there right next door, what if they are terrorists as well. the article spoke of new legislation, i tell you we need something.

the new policeforce in Berlin sounds like a good idea!
i knew Hitler would make Germany stronger, and this seems like the first steps. its bad that officers have had to be sacked, i didnt relaise they were disloyal to our country. i think this new level of discipline against terrorists like the reds is a good idea, we have been to soft on them. and now it seems that the minister is getting tough on our men. im not complaining, i think it will go the country good!. hopefuly, as the article reads, it will be spreading through to where we are soon.

February 1st, 1933
i have just heard the speach on the radio. Hitler is so strong and i am so thankful he is chancellor. the speach began critisizing the treaty of versailles. which i think is a common hatred amongst all Germans. it has effected everyone, in a negative way. unemployment is really bad, it doesn't effect me and Pipin as much as those in the cities but its terible to see what has happened to this country. atleast the reperations have been susspended, although inflation is still throught the roof. i mean we are still farming but no one can afford to buy anything.
Hitler spoke of how we had lost our "unity of spirit and will." and its true, he is completely right we do need some unity in Germany, everyone hates the Weimar and for all Germans to be along side eachother, having some national identity would make this coutnry stronger. he says how the depression and unemployment from the upper classes will spread down to us, which, is tru, without people with money they can't buy what were selling. there will always be people who need food. but food prices will be lowered and so will my wages. i barely have enough food as it is to provide for my family.
Germany really is in a bad state, but the idea that Europe under Communist rule is worse, i dont know how it could get worse. it would make everything worse for the richer people in the North, who have money to be lost. but not for us.
me and Pipin have been talking about it and after hearing it we do both feel more involved in Germany. i think Herr Hitler wants us all to be a part of Germany and we all need to work together. i also think its really nice that he shares our religious views. its like we can relate to him, and he understands that "Every class" is equally as important. he also thinks that family is important, my wife is happy, it means that Germany may offer more support to her as we are caring for Nixie, with very little money she also likes that Hitler is looking out for the sick and injured by taking care of them. its refreshing to know that the government wants to be involved with young people. Hitler is offering us a strong government, that gets involved and will help to return normality. i feel slightly relieved that they are aware of our problems, its so easy for the lower classes to be overlooked. and it seems like we're his priority in order to feed everyone else.
compulsory labour, i think sounds amazing. for every person made unemployed to gain a job, in order to prevent the starvation and get a decent wage to get businesses back on their feet. the other countries in Europe would be envious! i hope that these promices will be followed through.
