Johann Reisner and Family

Guten tag!
my name is Johann Reisner, I am 44 and I have a wife named Destiny Reisner with three children, Eva and Hazel Alena, the girls and my young boy Calvin Christoph. Eva is the oldest of my children, her birthday being the 28th of february, she is now 18 and I have hopeful prosects for her become a wife and to have a family with her current boyfriend, Frederick. The middle child is Hazel Alena, born on the 18th of April and is 16, she is known for her knowledge but often helps me in the shop. My youngest child is Calvin Cristoph, born on the 20th of march and is at the age of 10 and as a result I have great apirations for him to become a part of the Hitler Youth.
I own and work in a shop in the big industrial town of Hannover. Due to the fact that I am a protestant I have been a member of the NSDAP since 1931 and am proud to follow Hitlers lead because I fear the jews will take over my shop and I will lose customers to their bigger shops and buisnesses. I have not been drawn to the socialist and communist movements which in my opinion will have no impact on the current corruption in democracy where as the NSDAP seem to have various solutions to the problems following the terrible aftermath of the signing of the treaty of versailles which left my country in a great depression and uncivilised despair. The Nazis are willing to help small town shopkeepers, like myself and for that I am proud to be a member of such an organisation. Furthermore, the NSDAP allows my family and myself to express our love and pride for our country as well as provide us with honour and integrety with which the jewish population and communists seem to have attained from us small buisnesses. Moreover, it gives my family a sense of community and belonging which allows my children to socialise with many other German families in similar situations.

30th January 1933
I have just heard the most execllent news that Hitler has become Chancellor of Germany. My family and I are ever so happy as well as my collegues and peers at the NSDAP. I feel it is the starting point of something grand and will truly make a difference to middle class and working class Germans, like myself as well as other German families as well. I have also been reading 'Mein Kampf' ('My struggle'),which Hitler wrote in 1924 when he was imprisoned. It has given me a greater insight into his work and I am glad to hear the news of him becoming Chancellor. I look forward to his up and coming speeches because i have heard he is one of the best public speakers around. I would like to hear how he plans to maintain stability after the state of my country as a result of the wall street crash and our dealings with America which had a great impact on Germany. I feel the NSDAP and Hitler recognise our mistakes of the treaty and are willing to help rebuild the greatness of what Germany once was. By Hitler becoming chancellor it can build on the political influence from the NSDAP in our corrupt democracy.

February 1st 1933
Hitlers first speech was unbelievable. We heard it on the radio and it was a great social experience as my family and my neighbours family were all gathered around the radio in our living room to hear it which shows that not only us are willing to follow his beliefs but so do many over working class people all over Germany and as result it gives us a sense of community and belonging. Unfortnetly we could not hear it fist hand due to the fact that the journey is too far from Hannover. However, I hope to take my son to hear another of his speeches in the near future as I feel it will enforce my beliefs to my son and he can be inspired by such an influencial and clever man who is one of the first that has the best interests of Germany at heart. The fact that Hitler recognised that we were 'blinded by promises' shows that he intends to make solutions to the problems and that he intends to actually keep the promises made to ensure we restor Germany rather than destroy it. It is so true what he said about losing our standing in polotics and the economy we lost the nations sense of 'spirit' and 'unity'. This is completely true, we were so glad to hear that Hitler pointed this out and it shows that he also intends to help regain and reimburse a sense of nationality and togetherness of the German population. Hitler also acknowledged in his speech the fact of the 'misery' of the unemployed and workers and how he hopes to treat these negative effects and I am thoroughly interested in how he hopes to compenstae for the previous disaster and tredgedy. My brother Fritz was a successful craftsman until he was forced out by the effects of mass production and as a result he has been unemployed for some time now. In my opinion, Hitler should stop the american idea of mass production and bring back the idea of smaller buisnesses and early Herman tradition. as a result, the jews would not be predominant and we can regain what originally was rightfully ours. this would also solve the problem of unemployment. Anyway, my brother was undecided about Hitler's ideas for the country but sinse being in this terrible state of desperation and the sense of fulfilment in Hitlers words on the radio, it shows that he seems like the only hope for new circumstances and situations. I adore the way Hitler is ever so optimistic in his approaches to rectify the current dispair, which as a result makes me apprehensive and anticipate his up and coming speeches in the near future. He has overwhelmed myself and my family with his great ability to wow crowds and his finishing sentences 'for we are fighting not for ourselves but for Germany' brought a tear to my wives eyes due to the fact we will we are finally acting as a nation again with great togetherness and unity.

February 22nd 1933
I have just heard the recent news of the formation of the Hilfspolizei by Hermann on the radio. I think it will prove to be successful because it will remove any soldiers disloyal to Hitler and the NSDAP. My nephew, Tobias, has volunteered to join, this will prove to to be benefitial for him due to the fact that it allows him to have a stable occupation as well as learn from soldiers whom already have experience form the army. Furthermore, myself, being a dedicated member of NSDAP, i believe if Hitler and his peers have control of the army, they will have full control over the people and thus allowing us to dipose of the untrue germans and the money orientated Jewish poulation who pose a great threat to Germanys economy and unity in the future. The white bands that the newly formed Hilfspolizei will wear allows us to distinguish them form their prior organisations and allows my family to feel safe under their protection. Of corse, it is not only the jewish that pose a threat to the economy and overall stability of patriotic Germany, it is the communists and the socialists that are spreading dangerous ideas that can only cause disruption in the current midst of disaster that Germany is so willingfully trying to over come as a nation and under the proud guidence of Hitler. The reds are determined to spread these new dangerous ideas and corrupt society with their Bolsheviki groups and their overall extremist views and the new proclimation by Göring will not only improve the police force but attain a certain amount of order as well, and i believe to achieve these goals, force is a necessity.

February 27th 1933
After all the good news in the past weeks of the influence of Hitler on the government and German society in general, i have just heard the most terrible news. My wife came running into the shop to tell me exactly what she had heard as the news flash disrupted her afternoon music on the radio along with tea and biscuits. She told me that the Reichstag building had been burnt down As soon as she told me what had happened, i automatically knew who was behind it, i said the reds, and suprise the suprise, i was in actual fact correct I am so glad that we have improved our police force because if it wernt fo them, the Reds would yet again plot to rise and bring down society as we know it. I hardly consider them to have poiltical views, just extreme thinking and after the effect of burning the Reichstag building, everyone across Germany is now fully aware of their terrorist mentality and they are now portrays as a danger to not only democracy but the stability and unity that the NSDAP and Hitler are trying to maintain for this country. Furthermore, i believe the Red's are purposely trying to appose our rights by posig a threat to society.
