March 23rd, 1933

This is worse than I ever thought it could get. Not only are we living in a land which once so prosperous that has now turned black, but we have to watch everything we say.
I am no longer able to walk around and openly proclaim my communist views; I’ve also had to burn my communist symbols to stay alive. But I still believe in communism and I can see right through Hitler's plans.
Hitler is planning to make all these new laws that will cement his place in power and there is nothing we can do to stop him.
We should have made revolution when we could! Now if we tried, the SA or SS would massacre us. We have no chance.
I'm probably going to be killed by the Nazi's sometime, I expect some big, fat, ugly drunk brownshirt will put a bullet in my back and then my wife will be thrown in prison or shot too and my kids will be put into "care" and brought up to hate Jews and Communists like myself.
Dear God what is happening here.....

March 5th, 1933

What can one do? Really when it comes down to it? Germany is falling.. and theres nothing I feel I can do. The Nazi's now have an extream majority and quite honistly it seams to me that it's just good fortune that they didn't get even more.
Intelligent people like me seam to becomming even more rare these days. Gone are the days when a German man such as myself could walk down the street and be free. Those days might have been tainted with poverty and desperation, but at least we weren't under the threat of being beaten up or killed simply for what we belive in.
I just do not see how the Nazi's could have had so many votes when we have brownshirts running around Germany beating up the people who have some type of individuality.
I don't know what's going to happen, I really don't, I refuse to hide away and pretend i'm not a communist becuase I am! I'm not scared of the Nazis and i'm sure that many people feel the same way.
But at the same time I am scared for my family and at work I have to purposley hide the fact i'm a communist becuase most of my co workers think we burned down the reichstag. This country is going to the dogs, and I think Hitler should be first. I'm sure Kyte my German Shepherd would have a lovely time giving Hitler what he deserves, especially seeing as he knows he won't get fed if he chases the postman....

March 2nd, 1933

Today is black, blacker than hell, for that's what Germany has fallen into. The Weimar Republic is dead, although the Weimar Republic wasn't a good system it was a whole world above the scary times we are falling into. I'm extremely worried and right now I’m honestly thinking of emigrating while I can. Maybe England or America, but then again it'll mean hiding my political ideology.
My local communist party leader was shot by the SS yesterday who are now the policemen, and 2 of my friends were arrested, I escaped because I don't make a big thing of my communist beliefs out and about or ware any party symbols, I can see Hitler's plans from a mile away, he plans to strip Communism from Germany his statement says it all.
It's the other way round! Hitler should be impeached and put on trial for heresy agenised the republic and his Nazi party should be banned and all his brownshirts should be disbanded. Or mark my words, all the rivers of Germany will run red with the blood of people whom Hitler and his crazed followers have taken acceptation too myself and my family included.
This whole country has gone to the dogs, just as Hitler's sanity... a long time ago.

This is outrageous! How can anybody believe we would resort to such stupid petty means to reach our goal!? Surely the assassination of that Adolf Hitler would have been a better start to a revolution. And on the subject, what revolution?! There is no planned revolution and what would be the point of burning a symbol of Germany and angering the German people who are yet to be enlightened to the truth which flies under the flag of Karl Marks.
I hope people can see through Hitler and his band of right wing murderers lies. How they don't choke on the obvious planning and staginess of this I don't know. The poor Dutchman was probably kidnapped and told to tell the police that he was a communist by the Nazi's. It’s disgusting.
As for terrorism agenised Germany, I reject this claim with the up most indignation, though Hitler and his no brained followers might not realise it we communists love the fatherland as much as they do, we just don't wish to murder many of his people and we do want to make him an equal and fair place to live.

Feb. 22, 1933

I have to say that I am very worried. Not only have we got that mad right wing man who looks like he could curdel milk by staring at it in power, but now we have SA officer's arresting people?! What is this country comming too?!
My wife was out today and she saw a Jewish man with two of those thugs standing infront of him, poor guy didn't stand a chance, he seamed to taken some food from a shop becuase he was starving and I don't blame him! This system fails! If we were all working the land for the good of the state and there was no religious difference then Germany truley would be Europe's most advanced country.
The poor man was hit round the head with a trunchon and sent on his way, how long till its a gunshot to the head? That's the question we should all be asking. And I expect if I were to go out wearing my armband that i'd get treated the same way.
The Brownshirts are bad enough on they're own, going around beating people up and simply doing it becuase they aren't intelligent enough to see that the only way forward is to work together for the fatherland with no care for how much money is comming to us or what we own!
I can see murder in the street, I honistly hope that the communists win the upcomming election, we cannot suffer a Facist ragime under Hitler!
